Nature beyond the gates of the Crown Fortress: birds, plants, and small inhabitants of parks

Excursion leaders:

Excursion description: Join us to discover nature that is literally right at our fingertips! Together, we  will explore the surroundings of the Fort Science and show how diverse life in urban parks can be. The excursion is primarily intended for families with children and is conducted in a playful, exploratory way. We will look up into the treetops, search under stones, and carefully observe what is growing beneath our feet. We will learn to identify common bird species and show how they can be recognized by their songs, even without seeing them. We will also focus on plants and small animals. We will try to gently catch insects and examine them up close. Together, we will demonstrate how nature in parks differs from that in paved city squares. The excursion will be led by students and experts in ornithology, botany, and entomology. The meeting point is at 10:00 in the foyer of the Fort Science, where the excursion will also end. After returning, participants will receive a small bonus in the form of a discount card for weekend workshops. We will be outdoors, so please adjust your clothing and footwear to the weather.
